Screw-top ice packs you fill once and freeze for years

These are the packs that made our name: a nylon-reinforced pouch with our cooling mix sealed inside. You add water one time with the funnel in the box, screw the cap down, and from then on it is freezer, cooler, freezer, cooler — no restocking bags of ice, no drain plug ritual.

The pouch that started Cooler Shock

Fill once, freeze forever

Our screw-top ice packs are nylon-reinforced pouches with the cooling mix sealed inside. You measure the water printed on the box, pour it through the included funnel, shake, and screw the cap down. That one fill turns the pouch into a reusable freezer pack that freezes at 18°F and replaces 5 to 6 lbs of ice each — for as many seasons as you keep it.

Unlike a hard shell, a pouch is soft at room temperature. Freeze it flat and it becomes a thin cold floor for a cooler; freeze it over a bottle and it sets curved, ready to wrap a casserole or line a round drink tub.

Five sizes, two with handles

The small 8.5" x 7.5" packs suit day bags and 16 quart coolers. The square 10" x 10" mid-size is our most-reviewed pack and fits almost any cooler wall. The large 14" x 10" covers the floor of a 45 quart cooler. For deep coolers we added handles: an 11" x 11" medium and a 15.8" x 11" large, each with a grab slot so you can pull the pack out without unloading everything above it.

Getting the most cold out of a pouch

Freeze new pouches for 24 to 48 hours the first time. Pre-chill the cooler if you can, pack cold items, and put one pouch on top — warm air comes in from above every time the lid opens. Wipe pouches clean after trips and keep them away from hooks and fillet knives; a pouch that is treated kindly lasts for years.

Cold performance that beats traditional ice

Our screw-top packs are designed to stay colder than traditional ice and to stay cold longer. At 18°F, a frozen pouch has more cooling power than a bag of cubes at 32°F, and it never turns into the water that soaks food and drinks. That is the performance our customers notice first: the cooler is still cold on day two, and the bottom is still dry.

They are also our most versatile cooling solutions. A thin pouch fits where a hard case cannot — under a tray, down the side of a fish bag, across the top of a full cooler — so you can build a custom layout for each trip. On road trips and outdoor adventures we suggest a mix: two large pouches on the floor, a medium across the top, and the drinks in between. For everyday use, a single mid-size pack in a lunch backpack does the job.

Each pouch is durable and leak-resistant, engineered with nylon reinforcement and a screw cap that stays sealed through hundreds of freezes. They are the most popular packs in our line for a reason: a long-lasting, reusable upgrade that keeps the cold wherever you take the cooler, with real efficiency in the freezer and in the cooler.
