Our cooling mix freezes and holds at 18°F (-8°C). The pack starts colder than ice and stays colder through the day, so perishables stay safely chilled for extended periods.
Water goes in one time. After that a pack cycles freezer to cooler and back, season after season — no more buying bags of ice before every trip, which quietly saves money.
Nylon-reinforced pouches and HDPE shells with screw caps hold their seal through repeated freezing and thawing, so the bottom of the cooler stays dry.
Ten sizes, from a 6.5" lunch pack to a 15.8" pouch with a handle. Versatile enough for a beach cooler, a fish bag or a diaper bag.
Packs lie flat on a freezer shelf and flat in the cooler. They take less room than loose ice, leaving more space for food and drinks.
Non-hazardous, food-safe mix and BPA-free gel. Pack them right against the sandwiches — nothing to keep away from the kids' lunch.
Screw-top and hard case packs ship dry with our cooling mix inside. Measure the water on the box, pour it through the funnel, shake, and cap it. That is the only time you will ever fill it.

Give the first freeze a full 24 hours, longer for hard cases. Lay packs flat or drape a pouch over a bottle if you want it to set curved around a dish.

One pack on the floor, one against the wall, one across the top. Cold sinks, so the top pack does more than you think. Back in the freezer when you get home.

We started Cooler Shock with a simple complaint: ice melts, and it always melts at the worst moment. The founding idea was a reusable cold pack that lasts longer than bagged ice, performs better than standard gel packs, and leaves no water in the bottom of the cooler.
At the heart of every pack is our own cooling formula. It freezes at 18°F, below the freezing point of water, so the cold it gives off is sharper and lasts longer. We pair that formula with simple, durable shells: reinforced pouches with screw caps, rigid hard cases, and prefilled gel packs for lunch boxes.
Our customers take them fishing, to the beach, on road trips and into twelve-hour shifts. Wherever the cooler goes, we want the cold to keep up.
Read our cold storyThese Cooler Shock ice packs exceeded my expectations! They worked fantastic and kept our drinks ice cold the entire time. We only needed one bag of ice in our cooler, and it lasted an incredible 3 days with these ice packs. They really helped keep everything colder for much longer than ice alone. I highly recommend them if you want your cooler to stay cold for extended trips!
Excellent reusable cooler ice packs. They're quite affordable, the pouch is very thick and I'm not worried about punctures.
I was slightly hesitant about them being user fillable, but it's a very straightforward, mess free process that took only a few minutes.
They have not leaked once and I've used them for grocery runs, fishing trips, going out to kids baseball games etc.
I plan on stocking up on different sizes for lunchboxes etc.
We got these when looking for an alternative to constantly having to mess with ice while on a 10 day road trip. These little fellas work. We used 3 in a 16 quart cooler in the back of the car and they would still be nice and cold, slushy not solid, 8-10 hours in. Definitely delivered for what we needed for the trip and no messy, wet ice to deal with.
Love love love these ice packs. Very easy to fill and freeze. They lay flat which is perfect for taller coolers. Sturdy material and light weight. Easily wipe off and reuse. Ours stayed froze all day in about 70 degrees out of sun. Would highly recommend.
Stays frozen cold for hours. Very easy to set up and use. Lining the sides of my lunch box cooler is easy and leaves plenty of room for beverages and food. I love them so much I recommended them to several of my coworkers, who also bought sets.
these are the perfect size for a cooler or my cooler bag. I use these regularly for my shopping trips, since I sometimes have to drive 45 minutes to my "go to" store. They stay cold a long time... they are easy to lay in my freezer when I get home and need to refreeze them.
Traditional ice sits at 32°F and starts giving up the moment the cooler lid closes. Cooler Shock ice packs are engineered around a phase-change mix that freezes at 18°F, so they begin colder than ice and hold that cold longer. In a well-insulated hard cooler, our packs keep food and drinks cold for 24 to 48 hours; in a soft cooler or a lunch bag, expect a full working day. The real difference shows up at the bottom of the cooler: no melt water, no soggy sandwiches, no floating labels.
Because each pack replaces 5 to 7 lbs of ice, you also get space back. A hard case pack is 1.4" thick; a screw-top pouch is about 1". Line the walls with reusable ice packs and the middle of the cooler is free for food, cans and the things you actually brought.
Hard case ice packs are the most durable option — rigid shells that stack, take knocks on a boat deck and stand on edge against a cooler wall. Screw-top ice packs are the most versatile: soft before freezing, they set flat or curved and come in five sizes, two of them with a built-in handle. Lunch box ice packs, including our prefilled gel packs, are slim enough for everyday lunch boxes, backpack coolers and travel bags.
For road trips and outdoor adventures, mix the two: hard packs on the floor for the long cold, a pouch across the top where warm air enters each time you open the lid. For a daily lunch, two small packs — one above the food, one below — outperform a single big one.
Cooler Shock packs are designed for one job: long-lasting cold with no mess. The cooling power comes from our 18°F formula, and the superior performance shows up on the second day of a trip, when bagged ice is already water. Our customers take Cooler Shock ice packs on road trips, fishing trips, beach days and outdoor adventures, and on travel days when food or medicine has to stay cold for hours.
Each Cooler Shock pack saves you the ice run before every trip and saves the cooler floor from melt water. For many owners, swapping bags of ice for Cooler Shock is the easiest upgrade to their cooler game: freeze tonight, pack tomorrow, and keep the adventures going without stopping for ice.
Freeze new packs for a full 24 hours before the first trip; hard cases do best with 48. Store them in the freezer between uses so they are always ready. Wipe them with warm soapy water, keep them away from sharp hooks and knives, and they will cycle for many seasons. That durable, leak-resistant build is the whole point: a cooling solution you buy once instead of a bag of ice you buy every Friday.

Straight answers about cold times, setup and sizing.
In a good hard cooler, our screw-top and hard case packs stay frozen and cold for 24 to 48 hours. Small lunch box packs hold for a full work or school day, about 8 to 12 hours. Shade, a pre-chilled cooler and keeping the lid closed all stretch that time.
Each pack holds a cooling mix that freezes at 18°F instead of 32°F. Frozen, it absorbs heat from the cooler more slowly than ice melts, so contents stay colder longer. Screw-top packs get water once at setup; prefilled gel packs come ready to freeze.
They are colder than ice, they do not melt into water, and they are reusable. Many owners use a few packs plus a smaller bag of cubes on long trips — the packs carry the long cold and the cubes cool drinks fast.
Within our line, the 13" x 10" hard case packs and the large 14" x 10" and 15.8" x 11" pouches hold cold the longest, because they carry the most frozen mass. Size the count to your cooler with our chart.
No. You add water one time when it arrives, cap it, and it stays sealed. From then on it simply goes between freezer and cooler.
Yes. The cooling mix is non-hazardous and food-safe, and the prefilled gel packs use non-toxic, BPA-free gel, so they can sit right against food and drinks.
Freeze tonight, pack tomorrow, skip the ice run for good.
